OPERATION GOTHAM
A high profile campaign codenamed Operation Gotham has been launched by police in Stockport to help beat the burglar this winter.
Local Neighbourhood Policing officers will be supported by other police units so please do not be alarmed by extra police in your area. Officers will be concentrating on tackling burglars but of course will be prepared to deal with any criminal behaviour they come across.
Known offenders that are not already in prison will be visited regularly by officers and you can rest assured that we will continue to disrupt their activities.
You can help us by making your home look occupied in the darker evenings by leaving a light on. If you have an alarm then make sure you set it and and make sure your doors and windows are locked. Also keep car keys and other valuables hidden from view.
If you see any suspicious behaviour then please report it. Criminals now knock on the doors of a darkened house to see if anybody is home and if you do answer they will ask for a ficticious person. Another tactic used is to deliver a takeaway menu by knocking on your door. If this happens please report this to the police.
Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111
or your local Neighbourhood Policing Team can be contacted on

or email stockport.westnpt@gmp.police.uk

Anti-Social Behaviour Patrols
Historically Gatley has a problem with anti-social behaviour in the summer months. As a result the Gatley team has put together a patrol plan to combat the hot spot areas. These include Scholes Park, Beech Avenue, Church Road, Skate Board Park and Gatley Hill. Gatley has already seen a significant reduction in the amount of anti-social behaviour calls we have received.
Business Watch Gatley
