Have only just had the pleasure of a visit from one of their canvassers.
We should feel privileged, Cheadle British Parliamentary Constituency being one of only a few such to be chosen as a barometer regarding public feelings towards a long overdue National Referendum regarding Blighty's membership of the European Union.
The last and so far only such referendum took place in 1975.

But I wasn't canvassed.
How were the canvassees selected?
This is a straw poll at best.

I appreciate that there are strong opinions on Europe, but I think there are a lot of points that you make that are questionable:
Britain has no say in European affairs - We have MEPs.
immigration has cost the tax payer hundreds of millions pounds in benefits, legal fees etc. - the last report that I saw on European immigration suggested that Britain had benefited through the tax revenue from workers coming from other EU countries.
The EU wants to have control of the banks in the UK - what? take over those bastions of Britishness, the Barclays robbers, the bankrupt (morally and financially) Lloyds Group and RBS????
The Euro as a currency has failed - twice in the same paragraph - it must be bad.
There is talk about corruption and fraud, and money not accounted for. - are we talking about the expenses scandal, LIBOR, money laundering bankers bonuses or something that happened outside of Britain?
our prison population has grown significantly with criminals from europe, putting pressure on our legal and prison system - I could have sworn I saw an article on the lowest crime figures since 1960 on the news yesterday.
the EU has tied our hands with political correctness - I'm interested in the idea that political correctness is definately bad and a clear sign of weakness. I've been to Europe a few times and it seems to me that the idea of polical correctness is actuallty a lot closer to British ideals than a lot of other european countries.
we are so weak, just a whimpy pathetic squeaky voice in europe - 6th biggest economy in the world, and 4th biggest spend on the military. If we are weak then we are spending a lot of money at it!

The referendum for leaving the Euro is a valid one. The government pays over £50 million a day to be a part of the club. Plus billions of pounds into the European Central Bank to bailout countries that are bankrupt.
Trillions of pounds worth of payments have been made, to the extent it cannot be traced, nor over the next few hundred years ever been paid back, because the huge interest payments on the loans, are not being paid.
The EU has come out with over 27,000 new laws which we have to comply with. Britain has no say in European affairs, and many EU officials have not been democratically been elected, yet they tell countries, who are in massive debt, how to be run. The Euro currency has failed.
Britain, has no border control, and immigration has cost the tax payer hundreds of millions pounds in benefits, legal fees etc. We will still trade with the EU like the rest of the world does, but not at the expense of bankrupting Britain. The EU wants to have control of the banks in the UK. The Euro as a currency has failed. I dont see why trillions of pounds that has gone to europe from the UK economy over the years should change. There is talk about corruption and fraud, and money not accounted for. So what is wrong with a referendum. Britain is the dustbin of europe, our prison population has grown significantly with criminals from europe, putting pressure on our legal and prison system. No border control, no criminal control. So i would like to see England be strong again, and controlled by English law, not dictated to by a foreign government. Thousand of people died to save England and her values and heritage, but the government is spineless and weak politicians who have their own agenda. Millions of people are financially bleeding us dry, and yet we pick on the most vulnerable people in society. Time to get a grip, the EU has tied our hands with political correctness, and we are so weak, just a whimpy pathetic squeaky voice in europe.
We have only one champion in europe, just one voice, who is outspoken, but tells the truth, and is just so right.
Look up Nigel Farage on youtube.  Nigel is more eloquent than i am, but he has the heart of the nations interest, in the fore front of his message. Watch and listen, then make your own mind up.

Oh I think the EU has its benefits.
I work in a european head office, I suspect if we left the EU my job may move across to the continent.
